KZ Tandingan shares story behind ‘Tadhana’ cover to mark WISHclusive video’s 10M view-milestone

Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan revealed an interesting story about her WISHclusive performance of UDD’s “Tadhana,” to mark the performance’s 10 million YouTube view-milestone.

In a Facebook post, she shared that the song was not originally included in her set list for her Roadshow guesting last August 1.

“‘Tadhana’ didn’t really make it to my set list for Wish Bus. I was just asked to do four songs — two covers (‘Rolling in the Deep’ and ‘Royals’) and two originals (a snippet of a song from my new album and ‘Mahal Ko o Mahal Ako’). Out of the four, only two (I think?) songs were broadcasted outside of the bus, meaning, hindi lahat ng tinutugtog namin sa loob ng bus naririnig ng mga tao na nakatayo sa labas…I felt sad to leave them without one final song na maririnig nila, so Mark Anthony Portado (guitarist), Joshua Silorio (drummer) and I decided to do one more for them even if it won’t get recorded anymore,” KZ wrote.

“The Wish Bus team was kind enough to record and upload it. Now 10 million views later, the extra song in the list is still bringing all the feels! Thank you UDD for your music! Thank you Wish 107.5 for the opportunity!,” she added.

In a WISHclusive interview, KZ shared that UDD is one of her ultimate musical influences. When she had to stop singing because of a throat problem, the band’s hit song “Oo” gave her hopes that music is not all about belting out.

With her recent feat, KZ is now eligible to become a member of the WISHclusive Elite Circle, a group composed of artists whose WISHclusives have hit at least 10 million views.

The inaugural members of the group (Morissette, Bugoy Drilon and Darren Espanto) were recognized during the 2nd Wish 107.5 Music Awards (WMA).

As of writing, KZ and crooner Michael Pangilinan are the most recent acts who are poised to receive next WMA’s highest citations.
