Wish 107.5 Goes to PLMUN: A Whole Day of Music and Wishes

Mar 7, 2016

Wish 107.5 visited the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun) on February 26, 2016 to join in the celebration of the university’s College of Arts and Sciences Foundation Week.

It was a whole day of merriment and music as Wish 107.5 brought its gems to the school grounds – the one and only Wish 107.5 Bus, Roadshow host Jelly Kiss, and the Wishing Wall, where wishes of every kind can be shared.

The Wishing Wall

Known for its wish-granting advocacy, the station has set up its Wishing Wall and welcomed the wishes of PLMun scholars. At the end of the day, over 700 wish notes expressing the desires and aspirations of the PLMun community were posted.

“I wish for school supplies for my nephew. I really see his perseverance and diligence in his studies kaya sana po ma-grant ang simpleng wish ko na ito,” Hannah Opol, one of the Wishers, wrote.

Another Wisher, Divine Bartolay, said, “I wish to finish my studies and find work abroad so I can help in shouldering the expenses of my family and relatives.”

Wishes shared via the wall are read by the jocks on air. Daily, the station grants one wish.

Roadshow features Miro Valera.

Just when they thought the day couldn’t get any better, the students were in for another surprise as a live performance was rendered by former Stonefree vocalist and The Voice alumnus, Miro Valera.

Miro granted the PLMUN crowd a couple of songs from his self-titled EP under Warner Music, which includes Agot Isidro’s “Sa Isip Ko” and Rachel Alejandro’s “Bulag sa Katotohanan”.

The rockoustic heartthrob shared that his latest musical offering is a ’90s-themed compilation of OPM songs popularized by Filipina divas.

“[90s] is my favorite decade,” he said adding that the idea of doing the EP started when he performed the 90s pop hit “Wanna Be” during his stint at The Voice.

After the Roadshow, the homegrown talents of PLMun also got the chance to share their music as they performed inside the Wish Bus. These special performers include the student participants in the recently concluded songwriting competition of the university.
