Aegis to Rock the Big Dome for 20th Anniversary Concert

All systems are go for Aegis’ highly-anticipated 20th anniversary concert at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

 

The OPM rock veterans are set to showcase their distinctive, supercharged musical prowess in their first headlining Big Dome show, aptly titled “Aegis: 20ble Dekada, Ang Soundtrack Ng Buhay Mo,” on July 13, Friday.

 

Though the band is expected to dish out their biggest hits such as “Luha,” “Bakit,” “Sinta” and “Basang Basa Sa Ulan,” they hinted during a radio interview with Wish 107.5 on July 2 that they prepared “a lot of surprises” as a way to thank their fans.

 

“We just wanted to thank our fans for their continued support for us, until now that we’ve reached our 20th year. I hope that they won’t tire in supporting us,” the band said.

Apart from Aegis members themselves — Juliet Sunot (lead vocals), Mercy Sunot (lead vocals), Kris Sunot (lead vocals), Stella Pabico (keyboard), Rey Abenoja (vocals, lead guitar), Rowena Pinpin (bass guitar), and Vilma Goloviogo (drums) — the concert also boasts a star-studded line-up of special guests.

 

The list includes Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, The Dawn frontman Jett Pangan, Karla Estrada, Jericho Rosales, Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis and the rookie vocal trio TNT Boys.

 

Giving Wishers a glimpse of what to witness in their anniversary concert, Aegis rendered live Wishclusive performances of “Halik,” Luha,” “Basang Basa Sa Ulan” during their recent Roadshow gig.

 

They also delivered their own take on folk-rock act Coritha’s signature hit, “Oras Na.”

 

The said track will be part of the esteemed musicians’ upcoming 20th anniversary album, the seven-piece troupe revealed during the interview. Their newest record will feature the revival along with four new original songs.

 

To date, Aegis has released seven albums since their debut as a band in 1998.
