Paolo Onesa is one of the newest faces in show business. Hailing from Zamboanga City, the 22-year- old Chavacano crooner’s interest in music started when he watched his grandmother sing when he was a child. He grew up rummaging through his father’s CD collection of jazz and standards. By the early 2000s, Paolo has already ventured into songwriting.
Upon joining the first season of The Voice Philippines, Paolo received his break in the local music scene. He got signed by MCA Music and released his debut album, “Pop Goes Standards,” afterwards. The compilation includes jazzified pop hits such as “You are so Beautiful,” “Make You Feel my Love” and “When I Was Your Man.”
In 2014, he bagged the Best Performance by a Male Recording Artist for “Lucky in Love” during the 27th Awit Award. He also staged his first solo concert in his hometown in Zamboanga City last February 25, 2015.
