On Saturday, young singer Chacha Cañete gave “a million thanks” to her fans who helped her WISHclusive rendition of “Fight Song” surpass one million YouTube views.

“A million thanks! My gratitude to the million viewers of my ‘Fight Song’ rendition on the Wish 107.5 Bus,” the 12-year-old belter wrote on her official website.

Chacha, who rose to fame with her “Bulilit Sanay Sa Masikip” TV commercial for a real estate giant back in 2009, also gave a brief background about her guesting on board the Wish 107.5 Bus on March 24.

“Vega Entertainment requested me to sing for a charity event (Cribs Foundation), but the night before that, they called and asked me if I can likewise sing on the Wish 107.5 Bus as it is the event’s media partner. My team said yes because Wish has been supportive with me during my EuroPop competition.”

“Admittedly, I have no time to practice so I chose from my previous pieces. In the morning of the event, I rehearsed a total of 4 songs (2 for the charity event and 2 for the Wish Bus). Thankfully, you appreciated my rendition of Fight Song. My heart is full with all your praises and love. Seeing me again is like walking down the memory lane with your Bulilit and Plemex little girl now all grown up.”

Chacha veered away from the showbiz limelight in 2012 to focus on her studies. She went on to showcase her singing prowess in various international competitions. She won two silver medals in the World Championship of Performing Arts in 2013 and bagged the second prize in the 2014 Euro Pop contest held in Berlin, Germany.

As of writing, Chacha’s WISHclusive performance of the empowering Rachel Platten track has garnered over 1.2 million views. It also peaked at no. 6 of the YouTube Philippines’ trends list.
