December Avenue to stage two-night concert at Teatrino

Nov 28, 2016

The boys of December Avenue — Zel Bautista, Jem Manuel, Don Gregorio and Jet Danao — are all geared up to stage their first-ever major solo concert on December 8 and 12 at Teatrino, Greenhills.

The adult alternative/indie rock band, who will be celebrating their 10th anniversary next year, will serenade their fans with their well-loved hits such as “Dahan,” “Eroplanong Papel,” “Ears & Rhymes,” and “City Lights.”

According to Zel, the group’s vocalist, they were “overwhelmed and surprised” when they learned that tickets were already sold out just a few days after they announced the date of the concert.

The two-night show was actually the band’s way to “test their fan-base,” Zel shared in a previous interview.

December Avenue gave a glimpse of what their supporters can anticipate about the show when they hopped on the Wish 107.5 Bus last November 24. They performed WISHclusive renditions of “Dahan” and “Sleep Tonight.”

Apart from holding a chill, acoustic Roadshow jam, the band also shared one trivia about them. Asked about why they are called December Avenue, Zel shared, “Most of our songs talk about moving on and December is the last month of the year, so it’s like the avenue for [welcoming a] new year.”

Zel further revealed that they will be releasing more singles in 2017, and hopefully, will be launching another album by December next year.

Last February, Tower of Doom released December Avenue’s full-length, self-titled record, which features 11 all-original tracks.

The band’s Teatrino shows will be directed by Paolo Valenciano. Clara Benin, and Gab and John of Urbandub will serve as special guests.
