Dello, Smugglaz, Curse One and Flict-G top YouTube PH trends list with WISHclusive video of ‘Nakakamiss’
Jun 20, 2017
Star rappers Dello, Smugglaz, Curse One and Flict-G have all created buzz in the music and social media scene before with the release of their hit collaboration, “Nakakamiss.” The single, taken off Smugglaz’s “Walking Distance” record, was recognized as 2015’s most downloaded song by the Philippine Awit Awards.
Two years after, the hip-hop/rap track became viral once again after the four performed it during their WISHdependence Day guesting on Wish 107.5.
Since the WISHclusive rendition premiered on the radio station’s YouTube Channel on June 17, it has already racked up nearly 800,000 hits and even topped the local trends list of the popular video-streaming site.
The performance first broke into the YouTube PH’s Top 50 trending videos a day after the online debut.
This serves as the first time that any video from Wish’s Youtube Page has achieved such huge feat. The station previously earned other spots in the trends list’s Top 10 with Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Chacha Cañete and Gary Valenciano’s WISHclusive performances, among many others.
“Nakakamiss” is an epic, five-minute rap masterpiece about friendship and nostalgia. The relatability of this theme is central to most of the comments shared by the viewers.
“‘Yung message ng kanta…nakakaiyak! Ang sarap balika noong mga panahong kumpleto ang tropa na ngayon ay may kanya-kanya nang buhay,” netizen Fritz Jay said.
“I never used to like Pinoy rap, but this one hit me so hard. I can relate to the song. Miss ko na mga kaibigan ko; ngayon hiwa-hiwalay na kami, nasa iba’t ibang bansa na kaming lahat. Nakakamiss lang kasi…Hands down to these rappers!,” YouTube user tukoji789 exclaimed.
