Kitchie Nadal, one of the most respected artists in the female OPM niche, revealed that she is currently writing and completing tracks for an upcoming album, which she hopes to release this year.

The 36-year-old singer/songwriter is known for the hits “Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin,” “Bulong” and “Same Ground.” The former vocalist of Mojofly has already released four award-winning and acclaimed records since she embarked on a solo career — “Kitchie Nadal” (2004), “Drama Queen” (2007), “Love Letter” (2008) and “Malaya” (2012).

In a recent WISHclusive radio interview, Kitchie teased that she is now “multi-tasking with the songs” for her newest record.

“When I write songs, I usually not work on just one,” she said, adding that she takes her time in composing an original material.

“I remember ‘Wag Na Wag,’ when I wrote that…siguro, I started with a few hours and then I forgot about it. When I went back to it, I finished the whole song nang mabilis lang. You just have to rest it.”

During her guesting, Kitchie also brought her bandmates to perform a WISHclusive rendition of her latest single, “Wandering Stars.” The alternative jam, which speaks of the current state of the society, will be part of her fifth album.

She also sang “Pangarap Ko,” “Hilom,” “With Whom,” and a medley of “Bulong” and “Same Ground.”
