Wish 107.5 Turns Two: All-day WISHclusives, Wish Granting and More

Sep 4, 2016

Morning ’til night time, you’re by my side/ Just like a real friend, you keep me warm

If you are an avid listener, you have probably sung these lines upon reading this article. But these opening lyrics of the Wish 107.5 jingle became more than just a catchy, tuneful part of the Wish anthem played every top of the hour — it came to life as the station culminated its month-long second anniversary celebration on August 31.

During the revelry, the iconic Wish 107.5 Bus roamed around the metropolitan streets before parking  in front of the station’s office along Philam, EDSA, Quezon City to host back-to-back WISHclusive performances and witness a whole day of heart-rending wish granting moments.

Star-studded concert on air

Kicking off at around 11 in the morning, Wish 107.5 welcomed a stellar line-up of guests and performers for its grand concert over the airwaves as a treat to its fans and loyal listeners.

A total of 19 acts delivered their own set of WISHclusives until 11 in the evening, providing great performances that highlighted Filipino artists’ mastery in doing live music whatever genre it may be.

Among the OPM talents who dropped by included Jed Madela (who admitted he himself is a solid Wisher), Tim Pavino, Kris Lawrence, Leah Patricio, Robin Nievera, Johnoy Danao, Njel De Mesa, Deejay Poblete, Paolo Onesa, Francis Lim, Zion Aquino, SUD and JBK.

Completing the list were first-timers on Wish 107.5 Bus, Michael Pangilinan, Patricia Javier, Quest, Michelle Ayalde, hip-hop duo Q-York and up-and-coming band Let Gravity.

The artists also shared their greetings and well-wishes to the station on-air and on the Wishing Wall especially set up for the occasion.

Inspiring wishes, granted

Making the event more wishful was the number of inspiring wishes that the station granted in one day. The lucky Wishers included a Jason Dy fan who wanted to have tickets to watch the RnB crooner’s upcoming “Breakthrough” concert, a loving daughter who dreamed of giving her family a one-day meal treat, and a student who wished to surprise her mother with a beauty treatment package, among others.

Andrea Romero, one of those who were selected, had a touching wish — to give her grandmother, who suffered from stroke twice, a wheelchair.

“When I learned that my wish will be granted, I literally fell down from the stairs because I was overwhelmed,” she shared, further lauding the station’s advocacy of granting its listeners’ wishes. “The way you fulfill others’ dreams is a great idea. With such simple gesture, you are able to make many people happy.”

Reanne Dela Cruz of Pasay who wished for a washing machine to help her mother in her laundry works also expressed gratitude to the station.

“I want to thank you for granting my wish, and I hope you can have more anniversaries so you can continue reaching out to others who are also ‘Wishers’ like me,” teary-eyed Raan remarked.

Newest addition to Wish 107.5 family

Indeed a day full of surprises, the station also officially welcomed on air the newest addition to its roster of Wish jocks — Dutch-Filipina singer Aliya Parcs.

Aliya previously tried her hand at jockeying for the program Roadshow earlier in August.

“I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the love that I’ve received even just for the previous five minutes — everyone is so nice and I am actually really excited.” she quipped as she received a bouquet of flowers from all the DJs present on the Wish 107.5 Bus.
