After her acclaimed debut major solo concert at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, Asia’s Phoenix Morissette returned to the Roadshow not only to perform but to also grant a five-year-old fan’s ultimate wish: To meet her.

On May 2, Morissette shared a heartwarming meet-and-greet moment with Yunix Andrecio, a leukemia patient and an avid Mowienatic from Calamba, Laguna.

“I’m very, very happy that through Wish, I got to help out and give back. It’s a privilege,” the popular belter said in an interview.

“Thank you to Baby Yunix because out of all the singers out there, she chose to listen to my music every day. I’m very grateful that I have supporters like her. I hope she continues to stay positive because I really see a ray of happiness coming from her,” she added.

‘Once in a Lifetime’

The said wish-granting activity was made in partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation Philippines. According to Program Officer Danimei Everett, the organization “grants the wishes of children with critical illnesses.”

Anna Marie Andrecio, mother of the young Andrecio, revealed that when the foundation asked them about her daughter’s wish, the sweet Mowienatic ardently insisted on meeting her idol.

“Actually when Make-A-Wish initiated an interview, they asked questions such as ‘What do you want to do’ and ‘What kind of toys do you like.’ They gave different examples, but she said that she wanted to meet you personally,” she shared with Morissette during their Roadshow interview.

After witnessing her daughter’s dream come true, she has nothing but sheer delight and sincere gratitude.

“We are so happy, we are so blessed because [Morissette made] time for my daughter. She’s fighting leukemia…and she still has to undergo many sessions,” Andrecio remarked, describing the opportunity to be with her daughter’s idol as “once in a lifetime.”

In return of Morissette’s charitable act, the 21-year-old artist received a gift and a letter from her sweet fan.

“Ms. Mowie, thank you for inspiring me to live [to battle in] another fight of my life. When I grow up, I want to be like you…Thank you very much. God bless you,” the letter read.
