Good afternoon, Wishers! Alice here. Today, I want to talk about avoidance.
When you are avoiding something, you dismiss it. You become uneasy and uncomfortable because it always lingers in your head. You hold yourself back. You shrug it off and pretend like it’s nothing. You may have lots of reasons, excuses and arguments to support why you are avoiding that certain something but have you ever asked yourself why? Why are you avoiding it? Why can’t you get yourself to face it? It’s because you fear it.
There’s nothing wrong with being scared. We have a natural instinct to distance ourselves from danger. Maybe, you don’t want to confront it because you know you can’t handle it. Maybe, you want to protect yourself. Maybe, you don’t know how to work around it. Maybe. But do you want your life to just be one big maybe?
Moving through and dealing with our fear head on is needed for us to grow and needed for us to have peace of mind. I know, easier said than done. It’ll take a lot of time. But it all starts somewhere. First step? Honesty.
