Stranger In My Memory

Feb 16, 2018

That night, I felt you had eyes just for me

Bad with names and faces, but yours? In my memory

Countless lights surrounding us were put to shame

By that smile that radiates from within

Your touch, then unfamiliar, but now, is all I crave

Thinking it’s the love that I’ve been saved

Where it ends, is where it began

Where I am is where you left it to hang

Hello, goodbye and one last smile

That was the happiest I’ve been in a while

You gave me so much to remember

All I could do is smile the morning after

I know this is all we could ever be

And that’s more than enough for me

Thank you— stranger in my memory.
