7 Things to Know About Daryl Ong
When Daryl Ong entered the stage of the Voice of the Philippine Season 2 for his blind auditions, he did not only astound all the judges, he also left quite an impression to the Filipino viewers. As he sang his audition piece, “Paano”, Daryl made his way through our ears and hearts. He has gone far since that moment. But for now, let’s take the time to find out some tidbits of who Daryl Ong really is.
1. Daryl was an animator of the popular Filipino animated series, “Super Inggo”. How cool is that? This talented RnB heartthrob also has a knack in visual arts! The animated series became popular when it was aired on national television in 2010.
2. Before anything else, Daryl used to be a band vocalist back in his hometown in Palawan. He has always loved music. In his Youtube channel, we can find his amazing renditions of popular songs such as “Thinking Out Loud” and “All of Me”. Further, Daryl served as an interpreter for a local songwriting competition for praise songs prior to entering the Voice.
3. Daryl is also a member of the singing group, Voice of 5, together with Daryl Reyes, Solomon Glass, Johann Mendoza, and Walton Zerrudo. Daryl is the vocal arranger of the group. In 2013, they released their debut album which includes songs composed by Daryl himself.
4. On September 16, 2015, Daryl Ong graced the first performance broadcasted live on Wish 107.5’s Roadshow, onboard the newly-dressed Wish 107.5 Bus. During his guesting, he promoted his debut album and gave a sneak peek to the listeners. He even did a cover of the song “Ikaw na Nga”, originally by Willie Revillame. Everyone was in awe as Daryl brought a new life to the song.
5. Daryl must have been singing his whole life – from his band days in Palawan to joining singing competitions. How does he take care of his beautiful voice? Here are his tips: drinking salabat and getting enough time to sleep.
6. Daryl also revealed his secret celebrity crush, and it was none other than, the gorgeous Maja Salvador.
7. With all the success Daryl has already reached, it is undeniable that his growing number of fans are a part of the reason behind it. His fandoms are collectively known “Darylnatics” and “Darylmania”. Daryl always makes sure to show his gratitude to them, thanking them always every time he gets a chance.
