Filipina R&B singer-songwriter and producer Denise Julia is back with a new song called “Changes.”
Showcasing the sultry, airy vocals and layered harmonies that she’s known for, the song sees her acknowledge one relatable truth: Sometimes, letting go is the best thing to do if one wants to escape a relationship that keeps falling apart.
“But I had to go, I had to leave/ There's so much love that I have to breathe/ It's time that we wake up from this dream/'Cause we've been here before,” she sings as she lays bare her emotions in the brand-new track.
The release also marks the official announcement of Denise Julia’s partnership with EMPIRE, the influential independent label and distribution company founded by Bay Area entrepreneur Ghazi. Since launching in 2010, EMPIRE has worked with major global artists, including Kendrick Lamar, Fireboy DML, Shaboozey, Asake, XXXTentacion, Anderson .Paak, G-DRAGON, and Afgan.
Prior to this, Denise Julia has already previewed her collaboration with the label with “2GOOD4U,” unveiled last month.

Denise Julia first broke through the global scene with her 2022 viral hit “NVMD.” The song has surpassed 200 million Spotify streams and entered Spotify’s Global Viral Top 20 chart, becoming the fastest and only OPM song by a Filipina artist to achieve the milestone. She continued her rise with “B.A.D.” featuring Filipino-American rapper and producer P-Lo, which peaked at No. 7 on Spotify Philippines and No. 4 on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Denise Julia built an early following through viral TikTok covers and original songs before emerging as one of the country’s top R&B acts.
