On Campus: Wish Bus Sessions — the campus music tour being mounted by Wish 107.5 and KDR Music House (KDRMH) — is officially on.

On June 23, KDRMH talents and special guest 1st.One brought their music to Arellano University (AU) Manila. The event, which coincided with AU’s Freshie Day, saw a stellar lineup take both the stage and the Wish 107.5 Bus to deliver performances that included relatable originals and crowd-favorite covers.

Performing aboard the Wish Bus, budding artist Kevin Monillano sang his originals “Alon” and Nanaginip.” He also gave his own spin to Kyle Raphael’s “Libu-Libong Buwan.”

Emerging band polaris. also made their Wish Bus return, treating the crowd to their upcoming single “Awa” and their own versions of IV of Spades’ “Sentimental” and Rico Blanco’s “Antukin.”

Meanwhile, singer-songwriter Dwarf (backed by his ace band) dished out “Junior’s Night” and Ebe Dancel’s “Burnout.” He also teased his soon-to-be-released track, “Bulalakaw.”

On stage, fellow KDRMH artists also showcased their music.

Hakki, on her third visit to AU as a KDRMH act, performed her originals “Halo-Halo” and “Aaminin,” while also delivering her own take on Janine Teñoso’s “Pelikula” and “Hulaan.”

In an interview, the pop singer-songwriter shared her passion to create relatable anthems: “I use my music to inspire people, especially my age, by writing songs that can touch the hearts of people and by making music that I know [the listeners] can relate to. I write songs, and I make music to share what I feel, hoping people would feel the same or relate to my music as well.”

Destiny Palisoc, meanwhile, captivated the crowd with self-penned tracks like “Kape” and “Mahal Mo Kasi.” He also sang December Avenue’s “Saksi Ang Langit” and “Sa Ngalan ng Pag-ibig.”

Oh Stella! proved they’re an OPM band to watch for, performing “I Guess” and “Dito Ka Lang.” Apart from these originals, they also covered Rivermaya’s “Elesi” and Silent Sanctuary’s “Ikaw Lamang.”

Levii, another talented band under KDRMH, delighted the crowd with a set that featured “Pinipinta” and their own renditions of South Border’s “Ikaw Nga” and Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature.” They even gave a preview of their still-unreleased original, “Kailan Kailanganin.”

Capping off the event, P-pop group 1st.One returned to the Wish Bus and performed “Wala Ng Iba” and “Kung Saan Saan.”

Catch “On Campus: Wish Bus Sessions” on its upcoming legs: Taguig City University (July 16), MCU Caloocan (August 4), Lyceum of the Philippines University – Manila (August 6), De La Salle Araneta University in Malabon (September 17), and UE Caloocan (September 24).
