Moira Goes Back to ‘Where It All Started’

Multi-award-winning singer-songwriter Moira is set to headline her first-ever solo concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on October 4, 2026. Aptly titled “Where It All Started,” the upcoming concert is going to be an intimate show, albeit set in one of the largest indoor venues in the country.

An intimate, full-circle show

“It’s going to feel intimate, and I’m excited to do that. It’s a concert unlike anything I’ve done before,” the “Malaya” hitmaker said in a Wish 107.5 interview.

The OPM act boarded the Wish 107.5 Bus on September 2, 2026, where she — alongside fellow guests Will Ashley, Jex de Castro, and Let Gravity — drew about 1,000 people. The Wish Bus was parked at SM City East Ortigas.

For the upcoming show, Moira will have December Avenue and Johnoy Danao as guests.

According to Moira, the concert will also be a “full-circle moment” for her and her long-time bandmates.

Moira and bandmate Luis Cortez (acoustic guitar, backing vocals) actually started as a duo who’d sing in weddings and other gigs. Luke Sigua (cajon and auxiliary drum) later joined them, making them a trio that frequently performed acoustic sets.

A journey of healing

In a press conference held on September 17, Moira entered the venue [the Global Academy of Rock, Scout Borromeo St., Diliman, Quezon City], with her head held high. 

Far from the Moira two years ago, she admitted that she had to take a break from being in the limelight, unable to face people without meaning what she said. 

 “I mean what I say, and I say what I mean, so I cannot get on stage and talk about hope when I feel hopeless,” she shared.

With the theme of going back to where it all started, we asked Moira if, through the years, her songs have changed in meaning or if the messages they carry have evolved.

She said that they have, especially now. 

“Especially now, I do think that on October 4, I'm going to be able to sing them in a different light. I haven't sung certain songs in so long, just because for a while it was painful to sing them. But because I get to see them in a different light this time around, I know I get to sing them, just because the stories have changed as well.”

For Moira, healing began from within. She shared how prioritizing her mental health also allowed her creativity to return naturally. 

“When I started taking care of my brain, it followed artistically… when I started healing privately, everything else [songwriting] flowed naturally.” 

She also opened up about her journey in therapy, describing it as an important tool in her growth and healing.

Through it all, Moira remains grateful to everyone who continues to support her and her craft. Her music has always resonated deeply with listeners, perhaps because, as she puts it, “We’re all going through the same thing one way or another. I think it’s just real things. I think we are all the same — we are all more the same than we are not.”
