It certainly was never a phase for most youngsters who grew up listening to “emo” songs back in the good old 2000s.
Tapping into that bittersweet nostalgia, Playback Music Festival is set to thrill those forever emo at heart as it brings together three fan-favorite bands from the era: The Click Five, Boys Like Girls, and Secondhand Serenade.
The bands will deliver four-hour non-stop hits, performing at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 9 and at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino on May 10. Fans can also make the most out of this event with exciting festivities and exclusive merchandise.
Secondhand Serenade (John Vesley) is known for hits like “Fall For You,” “Awake,” “Vulnerable,” and “Your Call.” In August last year, he performed at a sold-out two-night show at the New Frontier Theater.
Boys Like Girls are popular for their tracks “The Great Escape,” “Thunder,” “Love Drunk,” and “Two is Better Than One” (with Taylor Swift). The band performed in the Philippines in April last year.
The Click Five brought us “Jenny,” “Just the Girl,” “Happy Birthday,” and “Catch Your Wave.” Their last performance was way back in May 2008.
Ready to go back in time where side-swept bangs and all-black ensembles ruled? Want a picture-perfect way to relive those teenage highs and lows — while screaming at the top of your lungs? Don’t miss out on this ultimate nostalgia-fest!
