Wish Date Celebrates 20th Edition with ‘Rewrite,’ Headlined by Apo Hiking Society

Music and film have always complemented each other. And when these two art forms collide, they can bring stories to life — and stir emotions — in a more powerful way.

Such is the vision of Wish Date, a concert series mounted by Wish 107.5 and KDR Music House. First held in 2022, the series blends film, live music, and live stage performances into one immersive production.

To celebrate its 20th edition, Wish Date will return on April 12 at the Mall of Asia Arena. The event, billed as “Wish Date: Rewrite,” will be headlined by OPM legends Apo Hiking Society. 

Their anticipated Wish Date debut follows their recognition as KDR Icon of Musical Excellence at the 11th Wish Music Awards, celebrating the group’s indelible contribution to the Filipino music industry.

Also joining the lineup is Over October, which first graced the Wish Date stage in June last year for “Wish Date: Refrain.” The band has recently been making the rounds online for its tribute to Apo Hiking Society during the 11th WMAs.

The concert will also feature up-and-coming act Aquila Packing. The Baguio City-based singer-pianist has been captivating hearts with her heartfelt renditions of OPM classics.

The short film for the upcoming show will also see the return of actors Vivoree Esclito, Joao Constancia, Lienel Navidad, and Shaun Salvador, with special participation from Susan Africa. 

“Rewrite” follows a love story rooted in regret and the longing for a second chance.

Ahead of “Rewrite,” Wish 107.5 and KDR Music House are bringing “Wish Date: Endless” to Laguna on Sunday, March 15. This edition of Wish Date features a short film starring Bianca De Vera, Aljon Mendoza, Zach Castaneda, Louella De Cordova, and Rio Locsin. The Calamba leg will have Marco Sison, Kyla, and The Juans as musical guests.
