Gloc-9’s Debut Vinyl Release, ‘Mga Ani ni Gloc-9,’ Celebrates 29 Years of Storytelling

A culmination of his 29 years in the industry, Filipino rap icon Gloc-9 launched his first-ever vinyl album. Titled “Mga Ani ni Gloc-9,” the record compiles 11 of his greatest hits from different record labels throughout his illustrious career.

Known for his powerful storytelling, sharp lyricism, and ability to capture the realities of Filipino life through rap, Gloc-9 has built a lasting legacy that continues to resonate with generations of listeners. Throughout his nearly three-decade journey, he has delivered songs that tackle social realities, personal struggles, and the Filipino experience.

Among the featured songs are “Sirena” featuring Ebe Dancel, “Magda” featuring Rico Blanco, and “Upuan” featuring Jeazell Grutas. The album also includes earlier hits, such as “Simpleng Tao,” which he co-wrote with Christian Martinez, and the iconic collaborative project “Bagsakan,” which he recorded with Parokya ni Edgar and the late Master Rapper himself, Francis M.

“Sa lahat ng mga nakasama ko sa songs na nasa vinyl, maraming maraming salamat. Wala ako dito kung hindi ko sila nakilala,” he shared during the album’s launch on October 23, 2026, at The Millas Hostel in Cubao, Quezon City.

Gloc-9 also recalled how his childhood influenced his love for music.

“‘Yung parents ko, nung bata ako, meron kaming turntable. Pogi ‘yung setup ng erpat ko kasi mahilig ‘yun makinig ng music… laging nagpapatugtog nanay ko ng ABBA, Kenny Rogers, Tom Jones, Whitney Houston, Madonna. ‘Pag ite-trace back ko, siguro doon din nanggaling lahat ng love ko sa music,” he revealed.

“Mga Ani ni Gloc-9” is a limited-edition album produced by Universal Records.
