Heartwarming Performances, Brave Acts of Love Mark Davao Leg of ‘Braver Moira’ Concert Series

Moira Dela Torre is back in the concert scene with “Braver Moira.”

Kicking off this concert series, she flew off to the south and staged its maiden show at the Azuela Cove Seaside in Lanang, Davao, on August 16, 2019, coinciding with the city’s Kadayawan Festival. The event was co-produced by Wish 107.5 and Cornerstone Concerts.

As expected with the songstress known for her emotive vocals and songs, her setlist was filled with sing-alongs that brought much-needed warmth to the night’s windy seaside situation.

She opened the night with her original “Tagu-Taguan,” and followed it up with her own heart-rending revivals of “You Are My Sunshine,” “Sundo,” and “Torete.”

Giving a sweet nod to OPM legend Rey Valera, Dela Torre also mesmerized the crowd with “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko,” “Naalala Ka,” and “Maging Sino Ka Man.”

The rest of her performances were a good mix of crowd favorites and new songs, which include her breakout hit “Malaya,” “Tagpuan,” “EDSA,” and “Ikaw At Ako” -- which is a collaborative single with her husband, Jason Hernandez.

She also shared the stage with fellow OPM stars, Jay R and I Belong to the Zoo, singing “Langit Lupa” and “Patawad, Paalam,” respectively.

Brave Acts of Love

There’s a certain good reason why the concert was billed as such.

In one of the more poignant moments of the night, Dela Torre asked the audience to send a message to people they have not forgiven yet and raise their mobile phones with flashlight on once they’ve done it.

“Para sa mga malayang nagpalaya. If you forgive someone you have not forgiven yet, you become braver,” she explained. (This one’s for people who have freed someone. If you forgive someone you have not forgiven yet, you become braver.)

Showing another bold act of love, a member of the audience pulled off a big surprise when he proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of the concert.

The couple earned cheers from the people who were clearly enamored by the proposal.

From Davao to Big Dome

After displaying her musical prowess in Davao, Dela Torre will next bring her “Braver Moira” concert to the Big Dome on September 13. Apart from I Belong To The Zoo, she will have alt-rock outfit December Avenue and R&B singer-songwriter Nieman as special guests.

Idol Philippines grand winner Zephanie Dimaranan and finalists Lance Busa, Lucas Garcia, Dan Ombao,  and Miguel Odron will also grace the event. Dela Torre sat as one of the four judges of the said competition.

The Areneta leg of her concert tour will serve as her first headlining show at the iconic venue.

Besides “Braver Moira,” the award-winning singer-songwriter is also gearing up for the unveiling of a new album, which will be released worldwide via ABS-CBN Music International.

“I know that God allowed me to reach this stage in my musical career to give inspiration to all of you, that nothing is impossible, that there is so much hope. I am just so grateful,” she stated in a press release.
