fitterkarma’s meteoric rise can be largely attributed to their macabre music. After all, it’s not every day that you meet a Filipino band that links love to cannibalism.

And if you wonder how they’ll bring their songs to life on stage — in a venue as historic as the Metropolitan Theater Manila — you won’t have to wait long to find out.

On September 19, the alternative act is set to headline an album concert dubbed “kung tayo’y nasa isang horror na pelikula, tiyak ako ang una mong papatayin.” It marks their first major solo concert, coinciding with the release of their awaited debut full-length record.

Fans are surely in for a unique treat, as the band (along with concert producer GNN) gears up their “most ambitious live production to date,” per a press release.

Apart from them performing their upcoming record in its entirety, fitterkarma said they’re performing exclusive concert-only arrangements — plus a special collaboration with The Manila String Machine.

"Witnessing the record live will be a more fulfilling experience," said vocalist and guitarist Joao de Leon, adding that live music "has no limits" when it comes to reaching and releasing emotion.

For guitarist LORY a.k.a. Mikee Mendoza, “hearing any album in the order intended by the artist is an experience in itself.”

“So aside from the studio album itself, we hope to be able to elevate that experience by bringing it into a live setting and bring justice to the recorded versions of our tracks,” he added.

Founded in 2023, fitterkarma is composed of Joao de Leon (vocals/guitar), Sophia Miranda (bass), Sanders Bayas (drums), and LORY (guitar). They’re behind two of the biggest hits in recent OPM memory: “Kalapastangan” and “Pag-ibig ay Kanibalismo II.”

Both songs reached the top spot on Spotify Philippines Top 50 and Billboard Philippines Hot 100 charts.
