Following his homecoming concert in Manila on August 22, Ice Seguerra is set to take his “Pagdating ng Panahon” 25th anniversary show on a world tour.
The tour will kick off in Australia and will bring him across four cities: Sydney (August 29), Canberra (August 30), Melbourne (September 4), and Adelaide (September 5).
A career-defining hit
Released in 2001, “Pagdating ng Panahon” is one of the defining ballads of its generation.
It was composed by Moy Ortiz and Edith M. Gallardo and brought to life by Seguerra’s heartfelt singing. Since its unveiling, it has earned various Song of the Year accolades and, until today, it remains a staple across Philippine FM radio.
Proving just how deeply ingrained the song is in Filipino culture, it has also become a fixture at karaoke nights, family gatherings, weddings, and other milestones for Filipinos at home and abroad.
Earlier in April this year, Seguerra reunited with original label Vicor Music Corporation to release a newly recorded 25th anniversary version of the track.
A special tour for a special song
The “Pagdating ng Panahon” world tour brings the song’s silver anniversary celebration to the stage.
“Recording ‘Pagdating ng Panahon’ 25 years ago was already special, but I never imagined how deeply it would become part of people's lives,” Seguerra said of the song earlier this year. “The meaning of the song changes as you grow. Now, after everything life has taught me, the emotions feel deeper and more layered.”
In a press release, Liza Diño, CEO of Fire & Ice Live, shared that the world tour is a “fitting” celebration of the well-loved song’s 25th anniversary.
"This song has always been something special for Ice. We’ve all watched him grow up in front of us for almost forty years, from child star to the artist he is today. But ‘Pagdating ng Panahon’ for more than half of his career is what relaunched him as a musician, not just an actor. Taking this milestone on the road, all around the world, felt like the only fitting way to celebrate it.”
