nicole Debuts on Wish 107.5 with an Emotionally Charged Version of ‘Panaginip’

Debut songs are a critical piece of almost any artist’s career. And, surely, for nicole, there couldn’t have been a better debut track than “Panaginip.”

Now with over 160 million streams on Spotify alone, the song has become a modern anthem of yearning for the lovestruck. 

nicole, backed by his ace bandmates, delivered an emotionally charged rendition of this very track in his first-ever Wish Bus stint. The Wishclusive performance dropped on the heels of the 21-year-old’s “Best New Artist” win at the 39th Awit Awards.

In an interview with Wish 107.5 on September 9, 2026, nicole (Nicole Brian De Leon in real life) revealed how he wrote the song.

“‘Yung ‘Panaginip’ nasulat ko siya, papasok ako sa school pero ‘di na ko pumasok kasi [naisip ko], Ah kaya kong tapusin ‘to. Parang 30 minutes natapos ko siya, tapos nag-isip na ako ng productions, melodies,” he told Wish 107.5.

The song went on to be formally produced and arranged by Stephen Tan.

According to nicole, that’s how most of his compositions are born: from bursts of inspiration.

When asked about who his musical heroes are, he mentioned juan karlos for songwriting and The 1975 for the sound. As for how he views his craft, he has this to say: “Naging outlet ko na ‘yung music, saka ‘yung songwriting.”

Since its release in May last year, “Panaginip” has broken into various charts, including Spotify’s Viral 50 and Billboard Philippines’ Hot 100.

Commenting on the song’s success, he said, “Sobrang overwhelming sa feeling to the point na hindi mo na papansinin [yung streams] kasi, parang, maka-one million streams ka pa nga lang sa Spotify, more than enough na talaga.”

After “Panaginip,” nicole also released more relatable anthems, including “Tulala,” “Gabi,” and most recently, “Kalendaryo.”
