Ylona Garcia Shares 3 Candid Wishes as She Celebrates a Decade of Music

Ylona Garcia has returned to the Philippines after moving abroad, in time for a major milestone: 10 years of her professional music career.

On September 4, the “Entertain Me” hitmaker held an intimate Backyard Live show where she showcased reimagined versions of songs she released over the past decade — including an “O Pag-ibig” duet with Bonnie Bailey. It served as a preview of a bigger event dubbed “10 Years of Ylona Garcia: Live at Venice Grand Canal Mall in McKinley Hill,” which will be held on September 5. 

Her performances at the two-part anniversary event will be part of her 10th Anniversary Live Album.

Apart from her homecoming shows, Ylona also recently boarded the Wish Bus and delivered live performances of two of her biggest songs. She performed “Win the Fight” (which she composed during her stint on Pinoy Big Brother: 737 in 2015) and “Entertain Me.”

In her latest Wish 107.5 guesting, the versatile act also got candid as she shared three of her “ultimate wishes.”

“My first wish is to be able to do whatever God needs me to do… I want to fulfill the purpose that He has for me,” she told Wish 107.5 in an interview.

Linked to that is her goal to “keep creating great things.”

“The second wish that I have is, I want to be able to keep creating great things — things that are very intentional, things that come from the heart, things that are very well thought out, things that really come from me,” she further remarked, adding her aspiration to “impact people in a really good way.”

Ylona dedicates her third wish to the people she holds close to her heart.

“I really want my fans and just the people that I love to be extremely successful. I feel very, very responsible for making sure that I am doing the best that I can — to be the best example [when it comes to] fulfilling my purpose — and I just want them to be able to do the same,” she enthused.

Ylona’s journey in music “has always been rocky but filled with delightful surprises,” as a press release described.

After establishing a name in the industry with her second-place finish in the 2015 edition of PBB, she launched her professional music career. She eventually signed with Paradise Rising, 88rising’s Filipino-focused imprint, and has since relocated to Los Angeles to pursue her music internationally. 

During her recent guesting on Wish, Ylona also revealed what she considers one of her biggest wins.

“I feel like I was able to win that fight of having more control over my life, not just in what I create and what I want to come from me… but also in the business aspect of the industry that I work in. I feel a lot more knowledgeable and a lot wiser. And I'm just excited to really create good things and support really good people and do the best that I can,” she expressed.
