Wish Date has returned to Laguna, this time bringing a special run of its newest installment, “Wish Date: Rewrite.”

On July 6, OPM hitmakers Rey Valera, Renz Verano, and MYMP delivered their classics to a jam-packed Jose Rizal Coliseum in Calamba.

The show, which is part of the concert series by Wish 107.5 and KDR Music House, combines music and film into one exciting live-event experience.

An evening of OPM classics

“Wish Date: Rewrite” offered the Laguna crowd a setlist soaked in nostalgia.

Renz Verano delivered several fan-favorites, including “Remember Me,” “Tanging Ikaw,” “Sa’yo Lang,” and “Narda.”

The crooner also performed “You and I,” “Paano Ngayong Wala Ka,” and “Kahit Konting Pagtingin.”

Meanwhile, MYMP brought their hit revivals of “I’ll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me,” “Especially For You,” “Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now,” and “Tell Me Where It Hurts.”

Rey Valera, the night’s headliner, took the stage and gave the audience a night to remember.

The OPM icon performed all his classics, including “Kumusta Ka?,” “Naaalala Ka,” “Walang Kapalit,” and “Tayong Dalawa.”

A Valera set wouldn’t be complete without the OPM anthems “Pangako Sa’yo” and “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko.”

Rising band Strum Jam served as a support act.

Love, regrets, and second chances

As with all other Wish Date concerts, the live performances were interwoven with a short film

“Rewrite,” the movie, stars ViVoree and Joao Constancia and tells a story about regrets and second chances. Also lending their acting chops to the film were Lienel Navidad and Shaun Salvador, with special participation from Ms. Susan Africa.

The Laguna run marks yet another milestone for the Wish Date series, which made its debut in April at the Mall of Asia Arena, with performances from Apo Hiking Society, Over October, and Aquila Packing. The same lineup headed to Dagupan earlier in May.
